The NHS Help Weed at the Stroke Association

A team of six from the Business Services Authority department spent the day in the garden at the Marquisway Centre for the Stroke Association.

The garden, which contains some raised beds where they've been successful in growing vegetables, is right in the middle of the Team Valley Industrial Estate. It's hard to believe that this little plot of green is in amongst all that industry.

The tasks for the day were to remove the weeds at the back ready for the build of more raised beds, cut down the willow branches, and to tidy and remove weeds from the wild garden.

The group got stuck in and by lunch time the weeds from the raised beds area were gone.

The afternoon saw a group effort in tackling the weeds and brambles in the wild garden. A tea break was called once a wasp nest was discovered...!

The day flew by and everyone kept the work up all day to achieve what they set out to do and more.
