Who can volunteer?
Any member of Durham University staff can volunteer with/via us.
How many volunteering days am I
allowed?
All Durham University staff have the opportunity to volunteer within
the community up to five working days a year, subject to line manager approval
(pro-rata for part time members of staff).
How does an organisation become
a community partner?
If your organisation is interested in becoming a community partner than
either fill in this
form or email us via community.engagement@durham.ac.uk
What kind of volunteering do you
offer?
We offer one-off Team Challenges which
can be volunteers from the same department or it can be an Open Challenge where volunteers from across the
university come together for the day. We also offer individual
volunteering opportunities which you can see here.
What kind of volunteering do the
community partners offer?
We work with a range of partners so tasks vary. They range from general
outdoor volunteering to general indoor volunteering, animal welfare, mixed,
professional and skills based.
What if I already volunteer?
If you already volunteer then that’s great! We would just ask that you
register as a volunteer, and ask your line manager to complete the authorisation
form via the SVO website or the links below.
