Wednesday saw 17 members of the International Office decent on LionMouth for a day of volunteering. The sun was out, albeit a bit too hot, but everyone got stuck in and did their bit.
The team split into three: a group did some potting, some pulled up the bracken and the others planted some foxgloves and pulled up the Butterbur.
A lot was accomplished by lunchtime despite the heat and everyone was looking forward to cooling off during lunch.
The afternoon saw a few more people help out with the potting and watering - unfortunately this meant being in one of the polytunnels in 20 degree heat... The rest of the group dug up Butterbur which was invading the path; some of the team cooled off with a wade through the shallow river.
Everyone enjoyed the day; they loved seeing the impact they made and how overjoyed the staff at LionMouth were with the amount of work done.
