Friday saw two lots of volunteering tasks take place. First up was Experience Durham providing a gift wrapping service with all donations going to Bloodwise.
Staff from across Experience Durham came together, put on Christmas songs, made hot chocolate and discussed wrapping tips and tactics.
This was the first year that Staff Volunteering have attempted a gift wrapping service so there was no way of gauging interest, however it exceeded expectations especially as one staff member brought in over 30 presents!
What could've been a stressful environment with the worry that presents could've become mixed up with others turned out to be a relaxed, fun filled place full of Christmas cheer! The wrapping was of good quality and turned out to be quite speedy.
With the event being more successful than originally anticipated, Staff Volunteering will definitely be looking into organising a gift wrapping service next Christmas.
