Volunteering at Harvest & Help in the Sunshine

Tuesday saw 5 members of the NHS Contact Centre Services volunteer at Harvest and Help in Kibblesworth.

Harvest and Help is a service user led gardening enterprise. They offer gardening opportunities and voluntary work to its members, volunteers and young adults with a disability as part of their work experience at school. This includes growing fruit, vegetables, producing hanging baskets and potted plants, and then selling them to the local community.

Once everyone arrived (a few got lost!) they all set about painting the sheds and fences. The team got stuck in, got covered in paint and became a little bit red from the sun! The afternoon saw the team work together to sort and organise plant pots and pot holders.

Overall the team thoroughly enjoyed the day even though it was a bit too hot at times! They loved seeing the difference they made, interacting with the staff and users of the allotment and learning about the organisation.
