DUBS at Old Durham Gardens (30th June)

Two members from the Business School (one was an academic!) helped out at Old Durham Gardens yesterday.

Even though a grey cloud loomed just before they were about to start, the weather held off and stayed nice. The task for the day was to trim and clear the borders.

Old Durham Gardens are situated less than a mile east of Durham City Centre. Acquired in 1985, the gardens were derelict and so a council-led renovation project began. Friends of Old Durham Gardens was established in 2010 providing the council with the direct, voluntary public support necessary to maintain the gardens fully.

Both staff members thoroughly enjoyed their time at Old Durham Gardens. We'll be seeing more members of the Business School next week when they volunteer at Friends of Stockton Road Cemetery so watch this space!
