Christmas Crafts for the Dogs Trust

Tuesday saw two Team Challenges make snowman soup for the Dogs Trust. The morning session saw the Careers department get crafty and the afternoon was an Open Team Challenge where all University staff were invited to come along and volunteer.

The crafts were in aid of the Dogs Trust in Sadberge, Darlington and they're going to be sold at their Christmas Fair on 3-4 December.

Careers got into the festive mood complete with Christmas songs and Santa hats. It was a relaxed atmosphere but that didn't stop them from being very efficient. They were so efficient that they made 275 snowman soups in an hour and a half and we ran out of stock!

The team of 10 thoroughly loved the novelty crafts and taking time out of their usual working day to help the charity out.

The afternoon saw the first of the termly Open Challenges where University staff could pop in and volunteer from anywhere between 5 minutes and an hour; it was also a chance to air any questions they may have.

It was a slow afternoon, as expected, but we know that we're not going to get every staff member volunteering overnight.

Keep an eye out for next term's Open Team Challenge!
